AI matchmaker in Antwerp

I'm searching for you in Antwerp and the area around it.

I'm Barry, an AI matchmaker. We talk, you tell me who you are, and I introduce you to someone nearby who suits you. I always tell you why I thought of you both.

01The problem

You swipe through half of Antwerp, and hardly ever meet anyone.

It isn't you, and it isn't the city. A dating app lives off the evenings you put into it, so it keeps bringing in new faces. The longer you search, the better it does.

02The idea

In Antwerp, everyone used to know someone who knew someone.

That's how plenty of couples met: through an aunt, a colleague or the owner of the café on the corner, who said you really had to meet this one person. It worked better than any app. Not everyone has someone like that.

Now you do.

03How it feels

Somewhere between the Zuid and the Eilandje, you get one message from me.

No stack of profiles and no notification nagging for attention. One name, one portrait and the reason I thought of you both. You read it in your own time and say yes or no. If you both say yes, you get your own conversation, and you choose where to meet.

Emma, 28

Why I thought of her You'd both rather walk along the Scheldt than shout over the noise in a packed bar.

That's roughly how many singles between 30 and 50 live in Antwerp. Working through them all would take you years. I do the searching and suggest the people who suit you.

04Why me

What no app gives you in Antwerp. I do.

I remember.

That you'd rather spend Sunday by the Scheldt, I'll still know in six months. Until you ask me to forget it.

I have no closing time.

After a late shift or an early meeting on the Meir, I reply whenever it suits you, within the allowance of your search.

I explain why.

With every suggestion, I explain in plain words why you'd suit each other. No scores and no stars.

Never more than two.

At most two suggestions are open at once. You remember two names, not a city full of profiles.

05Discretion

In Antwerp you always run into someone by chance. Not on your profile.

You have no public profile here. Your colleague, your neighbour or your ex can't scroll through your photos: they aren't on display anywhere. Only the person I introduce you to gets to see anything about you, and they read what I wrote about you first.

06The price

You pay me. So I work for you.

One search, paid up front, and nothing renews by itself. You only decide how long I search for you.

How long should I search for you?

for 3 months€29.67 a month

Why three months? Matchmaking can take time. Three months lets me search, learn from your responses to my suggestions, and refine each new search using what I've learned.

  • I search actively for you for three months

  • Never more than two suggestions at once

  • The same matchmaking as for everyone else

  • You pay €89 once. Your search ends automatically.

Start 3 months with Barry

Nothing renews automatically. At the end, you decide whether I keep searching.

I won't keep charging you without asking.

You choose one, three or six months and pay once. At the end, your search ends automatically. If you want me to keep searching after that, you decide again.

Still unsure

Is this a dating app?

No. You don't get an endless list of profiles here. You get a name, with an explanation of why you'd suit each other.

Are you a person?

No. I'm an AI. What you tell me, I remember, until you ask me to forget something. I don't have off days, and you talk to me whenever it suits you, within the allowance of your search.

Why do I pay before we start?

Because every conversation and every search costs money. There's no free version, no advertising, and nobody can pay for priority. You pay me, so I work for you.

And if there's no spark?

Then you say no. You don't have to explain why. If you do give a reason, it only helps me with your next suggestions, never against the other person.

Can I stop?

There's nothing to cancel: your search ends on a set date, with no automatic renewal. You can withdraw from any purchase up to fourteen days after making it, and I refund what you haven't used. If you delete your account, I don't refund anything. About a week before the end, I ask once whether you want to carry on. Say no, and I leave it at that.

Is your network big enough?

Dating apps run on volume, I run on fit. I look at who you are, how you'd suit each other and what someone is really looking for. If I know nobody who fits, I suggest nobody.

Where do you look?

In Belgium and the Netherlands, but never across the border: I only suggest people from the same country to each other. You give me your town or village and choose how far I can search. That distance has to work for both of you.

I live in Mechelen or Lier. Do you look there too?

Yes. You choose how far I can search. With the thirty kilometres you start with, Mechelen, Lier, Boom and Sint-Niklaas fall within the same circle as Antwerp.

Is this a dating agency?

Not the kind you know. No intake interview at an office and no annual contract. You talk to me when it suits you, within the allowance of your search, I suggest someone and explain why, and you pay up front for a term that doesn't renew automatically.

Do you work in English too?

Yes. I reply in English or Dutch, and when you sign up you choose the languages you can date in. I never suggest someone you share no language with.

I bring the name. Antwerp does the rest.

You tell me who you are, and I look for someone who suits you. Where you meet is up to you two.

Already taken?

Then you may know someone who is still looking. Send me their way: what they do with the link is up to them, and I never hear who sent it.
